Review access from the activity to the door
Describe the walking surface, obstacles and usable space around the proposed unit. Ask for the actual accessible model requirements and consider reachable washing alongside it. A wider interior does not resolve an approach interrupted by parking or deliveries.
Keep the approved route available throughout use
Have the property organiser review the layout and prevent the clear space from becoming storage. Equipment selection alone does not certify the whole installation. Confirm applicable accessibility requirements with the responsible party and discuss any relocation before relying on a changed position.
Model information and the entire user route
Compare the actual accessible model
An accessible portable toilet should be selected for the intended users and installation, not simply because a photograph shows a wider door. Ask for the proposed model’s entry, interior and maneuvering information. Wheelchair-friendly and ADA-compliant are not interchangeable descriptions for every product. Request the applicable specifications rather than relying on a category name.
Who keeps an accessible route usable between visits?
Identify the person supervising the property while the facilities are open. That person needs the accepted layout, including the route to washing, and a way to report an obstruction. Review queues or parked vehicles as operating conditions change; an initial equipment choice is not a continuing inspection or a whole-site compliance certificate.
